Just one generation ago, finding good nutrition information was very difficult. Apart from the most basic foods, in fact there was no information on nutrition. Of course, you can easily find the average apple and other nutritional ingredients. However searching for nutrition information at McDonalds was a bit difficult. Big fast food manufacturers and unhealthy junk food marketers did not want to know the nutritional facts of information about what they obviously sold for reasons.

In order to change things, we needed several broad consumer protection laws, but today nutrition information is easier to obtain than ever. There are literally hundreds of thousands of databases detailing all the nutritional facts about the food you can actually think. You can find the number of skim milk calories, the amount of Big Mac fat, or other nutritional information you may want. Being a consumer is a really fun time.

The only problem is that many people still make unhealthy choices for food and lifestyle, utilizing all available nutritional information. After all, information on nutrition is only half of that process. The other half makes the right choice. Diet pills and other supplements are so popular not because people want to live a healthy life but they want to make them beautiful without having a healthy life. Many of the people I know are doing everything I can do to avoid giving up junk food. They actually live a much more difficult life by refusing to give up fast food. They should be more convenient, but fast foods can keep health and find ways to lose much more difficult weight than doing the same while eating well. Without that violence once a week, you will be surprised how fast the pound falls.

In short, we do not need information on nutrition to eat healthily. Many of us already have all the necessary nutrition information. For example, if you know that green is good for you, extra lean is bad for you. Purified carbohydrates should only be eaten moderately, and high fiber diets are good for health. Of course, you can count all the calories if you want, but actually it is not necessary. Besides that, eating is not fun!
