The cold and flu season is under us and as the new grade begins, pathogenic bacteria spread like wild. Everyone gets sick. It is the same for teachers, children, and parents. Nobody is immune. It does not matter how much hand disinfectant you use or how often you wash your hands. Or how to cry "chicken wings" when we cough in their arms, kids forget insects and scatter insects. We are still sick.
A few weeks ago, my daughter had one of the worst coughs I could remember. Her cough was very bad and I could not sleep. In fact, the whole house could not sleep.
Since I do not want to give children medicine, she already had a 12 hour cough syrup. But it just did not work. So much for modern medicine.
I did what mother did anything. I dragged tired myself out of bed and saw how I helped. After the fog at midnight in my fog, I improved the situation and made her sleep.
What I recommend to prevent night coughing is as follows.
1. Use cool mist carburetor:
Moisture helps to alleviate the risks and effects of dry nasal passages, sore throat, cough, nosebleeds, respiratory diseases etc. It is important to note that cold mist humidifiers provide better conditions to mitigate these problems because they are easier to breathe than warm fog.
2. Warm honey and lemon herb tea:
There is no healing in the throat than hot tea. Honey works as a natural antitussive, but lemon gives you a little vitamin C necessary for your body and is fighting the disease.
3. 1 teaspoon of honey:
Honey is a natural cough suppressant that is used by parents for generations. It is cost effective, tastes better than cough medicine, it works.
4. Vicks VapoRub:
An antitussive agent of a topical analgesic often rubbed against throat and chest. But have you tried with your feet? It is more porous than the rest of the body and helps to be absorbed by the skin. This is a quick and effective way to reduce cough.
Thankfully, we all slept for more than a few hours before the morning cell phone alarm began chime. Hopefully this will help you and your family to take more sleep during the cold and flu seasons.
