If you want, you can add lemon juice, honey, or other sweetener to the taste. However, most herbal teas are fun as it is. When adding some honey, most teas taste better for children, but honey is not recommended for children under 2 years old.
If you are treating a cough, cold or flu, we recommend that you drink liquid while still hot. Obviously, tea made for children needs to be cooled to a safe temperature before drinking.
It will be necessary:
- Clean boiling water, preferably spring water, fresh or rainwater
- Tea pots and / or tea cups or mugs, ideally China, glass, ceramic or enamel
- Tea strainer (optional)
- Lemon juice, honey, maple syrup (optional)
- Base tea (optional) such as green tea or chamomile tea
For homemade herbal tea you can use fresh or dried herbs. For a cup of necessary tea, please use a few large leaf herbs or 2 to 3 small leaf herbs. This is about the tablespoon of herbs per cup. When gently breaking large leaves, phytochemicals become more soluble in water.
Put the herbs in your teapot or tea cup and pour water boiled over them. Place the lid of the teapot, cover the bowl, and put the volatile oil inside. Leave it steep for at least 5 minutes. If you use a teapot, you can attract herbs when tea is poured into tea. If you prepare tea with a tea cup, just calm herbs on the bottom. If you want, please sweeten to taste.
Making infusions of herbs is very similar to making tea. The only difference is that the leaves are usually steep for at least 20 minutes longer than herbal tea. Soaking long herbs makes chemicals much more concentrated. Instead, leave the herbs in the teapot, gradually indefinitely, and you can pour the reinforcing fluid as needed in the day.
If you are pregnant, have asthma or allergies, have problems with the thyroid gland, or if you are considering giving a herbal tea or infusion to a child, use a safe herb for these conditions Please confirm that there is.
